Florida Focus is 2:30 newsbreak reported, written and produced on deadline by School of Mass Communications’ students at the University of South Florida and then broadcast on WUSF TV-DT in Tampa, Florida.

The Florida Focus site was created to meet two goals: to help WUSF ease into a transition to open-source software and to provide students an interface they could control, thus building a sense of ownership.
